Skin At Every Age!

What does your skin need at every age?!

Our skin changes with every decade-depressing, yes! I know now at 42 myself I am all too familiar with the changes. Our skin needs different ingredients and there is so much more now to help prevent the signs of aging.

It is more important now than ever before to ensure you are getting the right advice not only for your skin type but also your age.

What are the right advanced treatments you should be having?

20’s-Protect and repair

Prevention is the best cure and well your twenties is the right time for this. It is imperative that a moisturizer and sunscreen is a part of your daily routine. Sun exposure and all the partying are not great for our skins. It is a party for free radicals- Free radical damage from the sun exposure, smoking, alcohol consumption can seriously damage the skin. When you have free radical damage it accelerates the aging process.

The perfect skin care is

  • Cleanse
  • Tone
  • moisturize with sunscreen or apply it separately
  • Antioxidants > Vitamin C

30’s- Exfoliate and Rejuvenate

This is when most of us especially Aussie’s see that first line appear. Skin regeneration slows down leading to a dull uneven skin tone. Our production of collagen and elastin begins to slow down.

Product Ingredients: You are looking for in your skin care routine are peptides and retinols. Peptides are found in Dr Aspect Cellablation, they help support the production of collagen and elastin

Treatments: Regular chemical peels or enzyme peels are also the key

If you have developed pigmentation from over exposure to the sun, lightening ingredients will also help and vitamin C will help prevent further damage-Dr Aspect have the highest form of vitamin C and a product called Pigment Punch to help lighten the pigmentation by changing cellular structure, infect produce less melanin.

Products that are a must in your bathroom

  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Exfoliate (can have AHA’s)
  • Mask
  • Sunscreen
  • Amazing extras- Vit A, B, C

40’s Plump and Smooth

Many women at this stage start to look at fillers and injectables- This is not for everyone but for those who do like to use these as a part of their skin care routine find it helps to prevent the deepening the wrinkles .

Unfortunately you will find your skin begins to thin > Hylaronic acid is a perfect ingredient to plump up the skin and leave it silky and hydrated.

Thalgo Anti-Aging range contains Hyaluronic acid, Skin Medic TNS contains Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin c .The eyelift from Dr Aspect is perfect for the eyes

Facts: Hyaluronic acid can hold 1000 times its own weight in water and it’s naturally present in our bodies-strength retinols and alpha hydroxyl acids.

50’s Hydrate and Nurture

This is hormonal change time! Many women experience extreme dryness.

Hydrate + Hydrate + Nurture + nurture + nurture. The skin requires ultra hydrating ingredients to stay smooth and supple AND don’t forget the neck-it is a forgotten area and the first area that gives away you real age. Collagen producing products are your best friend, Retinols, stem cells, peptides and glycolic acid all working together to help the skin stay dewy and luminous .

So as you can see if you are still using that old favourite for the past ten years, then you need to ask yourself ‘is it still working. Your skin has changed and so should you skin care routine.
