Get your skin care routine determined on you DNA test.

It is difficult to predict how your skin will respond to aging. Many people look at their mums and dad and assume they will look the same, My mum at 63 does not have many deep wrinkles, so instead of hoping for this trait, I went and got my DNA tested to see if science could give me any clues about how my skin would age. Sound extreme? It is now going to be the norm as it is the only true way to scientifically determine and recommend skin care treatments and products to our clients; it takes the guess work out of the equation and wrong diagnosis made.

DNA testing helps people spend their skin care dollars in a more purposeful way. It does not matter how expensive a product is, if it does not work for you-it’s a waste of money.

To start the process you come into the spa where we take the DNA sample by swabbing the skin cells in your mouth, 7 times with a special Q tip on the inside of your cheek we pack it in the included box and ship it off to the lab. Scientists can study the DNA from any cell of the body but cheek cells are the easiest to get because they happen to slough off easier.

The lab then specifically looks at sections of your DNA called nuclecticle polymorphisms or SNP’s (pronounced snips) The SNP’s found in your DNA are what make your DNA unique to you.

The analyses look at five different SNP’S collagen formation factor. Based on your genetics you’re given a diagnosis of high, medium or low risk in each category, from these suggestions to topical skin care and oral supplementation to address specific genetics need of your skin.

We can then identify if you are a high risk of sun protection factor, collagen formation factor, firmness and elasticity inflammation control facto and free radical damage

So what does it mean if you are high risk of sun protection factor-this in Australia is extremely important to know this would mean that one would be radical damage which will show up as pigmentation-dark spots, fine lines and bad texture?

Glycation protection-This could be described as sugar ‘caramelizing’ the collagen and elastin in your skin. It’s the process whereby sugar glomes onto protein and lipid cells and produces a molecule called an advanced glycation end product (age) These AGE’s age you pretty quickly, causing heavy wrinkles and folds, sagging skin, and uneven texture. Ps give up the sugar!

Antioxidant protection factor-this can lead to dull skin, rough textures and acne. Most clinics, spas, and medispa’s are not offering this service yet as it is new to Australia in the states they have been using this process for 2 years now. This process is going to become extremely popular over the next few years as clients are going to demand it to avoid wrong diagnosis from therapists which productively leads to people wasting their money.

Once people know their genetics disposition they can go away and choose products/services based on their individual SNP’s, instead of focusing on just what you want you can actually prevent future issues. What your genetics give you is a road map then you can say “I like or don’t like’ that destination. That’s where skin care products and supplements become very purposeful on terms of changing the outcome.

The cost of a DNA test is $250 this includes the appointment and test, the lab cost and a 5 page report of the finding and the consultation and program outline with a therapist, this follow up is 7 days after the test outlining the outcomes and the treatment and product plan specifically for you!

We are very excited about being able to offer this service to our clients as now we will be able to do so much more-just for you! And get it 99% correct guaranteed
